Welcome

Thank you for visiting this website. I am passionate about helping young people aged 5+ and adults with anxiety, depression and trauma.

I am a BACP accredited Counsellor with over 1000 hours of practice. I am an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with over 1000 hours of clinical practice.

I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing Reprogramming) for helping adults and children recover from Trauma.

I was a volunteer counsellor with Cruse Bereavement care for 6 years. I have two years experience working with sexual trauma with Nexus Institute NI and 2 years with CAMHS.

One and half years as a Trauma specialist with Ascenti Mental health and working with Onebright the biggest mental health provide after the NHS in the UK. I currently work with Nuffield and PAM

EMDR -Trauma

Counselling

It is normal to be fearful of some situations as this helps our body to best respond. However, if this is lasting a long time, is out of proportion to the situation and is limiting your daily living then it is time to seek help. This can be Panic attacks (with or without agoraphobia -fear of open spaces), Social Anxiety,  Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), phobias (such as fear of spiders),low self esteem. CBT is a proven therapy to reduce anxiety and depression.

Nightmares, difficulty sleeping or keep waking up, are unsettled by noises and smells, are you more aggressive than usual? You may be suffering the effects of trauma.

Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a proven NHS treatment to reduce the symptoms and effects of trauma so people can live their lives better.

For those who feel that CBT is not suitable I also offer Counselling. This is through a Person Centred approach. 

 

Counselling “offers you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and to help you improve things”. BACP.

Depression
